Tutoring Initiative

Tutoring Initiative

Victorian schools engaged over 4100 teaching professionals to work as tutors in 2021. The tutors provide extra support to students whose learning was disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is part of the largest initiative in the state's history to provide students with extra targeted support, with $250 million being invested in the initiative.

Chalcot Lodge has put the initiative in place based on the needs of our students. Our tutors collaborates with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to identify the area of need and how we can support these students. The engagement of the tutors, student support, and hours of work vary depending on these needs.

Our tutors work on the school site. The targeted teaching we provide to students involves students taking part in small group learning outside of regular class.
