The Chalcot Lodge Program of Inquiry consists of five whole school Globalised Concepts: “Who We Are”; “How the World Works”; “Where we are in Place and Time”; “Mother Earth”; and “Community Systems”.  The program is based on the Australian Curriculum and providers students with an opportunity to explore topics from a global perspective and provide them with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to engage effectively with and prosper in a globalised world.  Students will gain personal and social benefits and be better equipped to make sense of the world in which they live. The three cross-curriculum priorities of ‘Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Histories & Cultures’, Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia’ and ‘Sustainability’ are embedded in all aspects of the Global Inquiry Program. They will have a strong but varying presence depending on their relevance to the topics.  An Inquiry approach is used to further strengthen student voice and empower them to negotiate their learning during Global Inquiry Based units.
